GOAL/QPC is a not-for-profit educational institution whose mission is to
help organizations and communities to grow and prosper. GOAL/QPC conducts
research on quality-based tools, methods, and techniques that have proven
helpful in successful organizations, and disseminates this information
to organizational leaders.
Texterity, using Published Web Format, provided a private library of
key QPC/GOAL titles, including the "Memory Jogger" guides that are used
by leading Fortune 1000 companies.
The strategy behind this effort was to leverage the existing hard-copy
distribution by making a web-based version available to customers,
thereby empowering employees to access information 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. Because only a web browser is required, the
content is available to employees at their desks, on the shop floor
at web kiosks, or on the road.
The High-Resolution PDF files used to print the guides were processed
using Texterity's Published Web Format™ technology. This allowed users
to view, search, and print selected pages from any web browser
without the need for a plug-in or application. Because the books
contain high-resolution graphics, charts, and graphs, the quality
of PWF was key to ensuring that the information was faithfully
presented on the web.
GOAL/QPC is working with their customers to encourage them to create
their own "custom" libraries, which will include a selection of
quality books plus company-specific materials. ROI is expected
to be positive as employees and others are able to easily access
quality information with just a few clicks of the mouse.
