October 18, 2011 |  Texterity is pleased to announce that four of its leading mobile magazine titles in the App Store -- Disney FamilyFun, The Kit, Athlon Inside Saturday and Athlon Inside Sunday -- are now available on Newsstand, a key feature of iOS 5.

Three were featured during the launch of iOS 5: Family Fun, Athlon Inside Saturday, and Athlon Inside Sunday. Family Fun and Athlon Inside Saturday occupied spots 2 and 3 on the iPhone’s “featured titles” page. (#1 was the New York Times). All three titles were listed in the “hot” or “featured” lists on the iPad’s “featured titles” page, accessible by scrolling through the entries.

Announcing 2011 Texterity-BPA All-Mobile Survey Results: Taken by Mobile App Readers on Mobile Devices

Conducted with BPA Worldwide, which certified the results for the fifth straight year, the 2011 readership survey was designed to specifically study magazine app users while on their mobile devices.

The new research reveals a high degree of audience engagement, significant time spent within apps, multi-location and day-part use, an acceptance of in-app advertising, and a sophisticated level of cross-media participation.

Texterity Title, The Kit, Sets Success Record: Digital to App to Acquisition in 10 Months

June 15, 2011 |  On June 7th, Star Media Group, a division of Toronto Star Newspapers Limited, announced their intention to acquire The Kit, a Canadian digital magazine and mobile app produced by Texterity.

Focused on wellness and beauty, The Kit defied traditional print-first models by launching a digital-only publication in September, 2010, followed by a branded magazine app. Both are free to readers and supported by advertisers.

By December, Masthead (Canada’s publishing industry voice) was touting The Kit’s meteoric rise, citing 50,000 visits and 850,000 page views. By June, The Kit was enjoying more than 232,000 visits and close to 4.5 million page views.

Texterity Launches Android Apps with Penton’s Broadcast Engineering Magazine

April 21, 2011 |  Digital and mobile publishing leader Texterity and Penton Media announce the cross-platform availability of Broadcast Engineering magazine. This is the first Texterity title to offer apps for both Apple and Android systems.

June 08, 2009 |  Texterity released its fourth annual BPA Worldwide-certified survey results in the Profile of the Digital Edition Reader. This year, both magazines and newspapers were represented. This survey is the most comprehensive profile of digital edition (also known as digital magazines, e-magazines, and e-editions) reader preferences available.
