Martin Hensel
President

Hensel founded Texterity in 1991 to provide technology and services to the publishing industry, originally as a designer of book production systems; in 1996, as a provider of ebook technology; and, in 2002, as a leading provider of digital delivery for magazines, catalogs, and other content. Hensel’s expertise in the publishing technology industry and high-level business perspective makes him a much sought-after speaker and commentator on industry topics.

Before launching Texterity, Hensel was general manager of Investext, a division of Thomson Financial Services; co-founder and general manager of electronic publisher Wilson Cambridge; and co-founder and president of LaserData, Inc., where he chaired the NISO standards committee that established the CD-ROM format. Hensel received a B.A. in Philosophy from New York University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
 


Carl Scholz
Chief Operating Officer

Carl Scholz is responsible for the Texterity’s day-to-day operating and development activities, including revenue and sales growth, expense, cost and margin management, production and technology development, and corporate strategy. Carl joined Texterity in 1995 and has held various engineering and operations management roles.

Before Texterity, Carl worked at Houghton Mifflin Company as the Software Architect for several Corporate R&D efforts. Previously, Carl held management and software engineering positions at the Open Software Foundation, Interactive Systems Corporation and NCR Corporation, working on a variety of projects involving open source software, user interface systems, database design and web solutions. Carl has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Virginia School of Engineering.
 

 


Adrienne Azaria
Vice President of Engineering & Operations

Adrienne Azaria is responsible for defining, building and delivering Texterity's products for the web and mobile devices, Coverleaf and the workflow and production tools used by our Operations team. She also oversees the production of all digital content created for our clients.

Prior to joining Texterity in 1997, Azaria held project management positions at Interleaf, Inc., where she set the strategy and direction for their line of SGML-based publishing products. At Hewlett-Packard, she held product management and software engineering positions, working on software licensing and user interface development tools. Azaria received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Computer Graphics from Purdue.

 


Wendy Zingher
Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Wendy Zingher leads the Sales & Marketing team at Texterity. She's responsible for revenue, marketing materials and strategy, and customer account management to ensure publishers, readers, and advertisers are achieving maximum value from their Texterity editions. Zingher joined Texterity in 2005 in engineering management, and has held the title of VP, Software Engineering. Under her direction, the engineering team built Texterity's web reader, the Coverleaf consumer magazine site and subscription management platform.

Prior to that, she was a software development manager at Concord Communications, since acquired by Computer Associates, responsible for core infrastructure for the eHealth network management product. She also was a manager of development at Sunquest Information Systems, a provider of hospital lab software systems, and a software developer building cross-database patient identification systems. Her software career started in the Israel Ministry of Finance, building technology to track the assets of the Israel Bonds program. Zingher received a BA in French Literature and Political Science from Wellesley College, and an MBA from Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a concentration in MIS.
 

 


Gregory Murphy
Finance Director

Gregory Murphy oversees all aspects of Texterity's fiscal management and financial operations. For the ten years prior to joining Texterity in 2006, Mr. Murphy was COO and then CEO of Greenleaf Composting, at the time, Boston's premier organics recycling and landscape supply company. Before that, he was Associate Director of Boston Urban Gardeners, a nationally recognized leader in urban land use planning and community development. Murphy received an M.Ed, with a concentration in Business Management, from Cambridge College.
