Senior Java Developer - Web Products
Texterity, Inc. is looking for a motivated, skilled senior Java developer. We are committed to helping the magazine publishing industry add value and break new ground, and are looking for passionate and energetic employees that can help us realize this goal.
You will be part of a small team of talented engineers building web applications to deliver solutions to our internal Client Services and Production staff. This position will focus on:
- Delivering new self-service products to publishers
- Improving our digital publishing workflow
Skills & Requirements
Required:
- 3+ years of Java Web development experience
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Struts, Spring and Hibernate
- Fundamental knowledge of web application architecture, database design (MySQL), MVC frameworks
- Knowledge of DHTML, XML, CSS, DOMs, Schemas, and parsers
- Experience working in UNIX or Linux environments
- Ability to work with a team in a collaborative environment
- Good written and verbal communications
- B.S./B.A. in related field and 5 years relevant development experience
- Comfortable in all phases of application development
Desired:
- Experience with high availability server systems using load balancing, caching and optimization techniques in a multi-tiered environment
- Perl, mod perl and OO Perl
- Working knowledge of web application authentication and security methods
- Familiarity with templating languages such as Freemarker

We are looking for someone who can help us improve our industry leading mobile platform and develop new solutions to help publishers make the jump from print to mobile and digital.
