December 02, 2010 Texterity, the digital and mobile publishing leader, and The Wonderfactory, the innovative experience design shop focused on media companies, have teamed up to help magazine publishers deliver content across all tablet and smart phone operating systems as well as the Web.
The Texterity/Wonderfactory solution will create compelling brand experiences for both publishers and advertisers. As a result, readers will enjoy exciting new ways to connect with content and each other, and publishers will have new ad placement opportunities and increased inventory to sell to advertisers.
A newly designed reader interface and a comprehensive library of interactive modules will debut in Q1 2011, giving publishers expanded offerings and unique tools to attract and engage their audiences.
By leveraging the same content from their Web editions for tablet and smart phone formats, niche, trade, and association publishers will be able to contain costs yet benefit from the sophistication currently reserved for the largest consumer magazines.
Martin Hensel, founder and president of Texterity, views this partnership as the best of both worlds. "Texterity has long been the technology leader in digital editions, and The Wonderfactory is clearly the design innovator in apps. Together we create a powerhouse of great design and great technology to accelerate the digital strategies of magazines worldwide.”
"We opened our doors in 2005 so that we could have a positive impact on the entire publishing industry,” said David Link, Creative Director and co-founder of The Wonderfactory. "Over the past year the work we have done for publications like Time Magazine and Sports Illustrated – creating some of the most downloaded apps for the iPad to date – has paved the way for our new partnership with Texterity, which will allow us to help hundreds, or hopefully even thousands of magazines that have difficulty affording large, enterprise solutions.”
